Pelham Championship Day will be held on August 22nd from 9-1pm for T-ball, Rookie and Mosquito leagues. This will include the final activity of the Pitch, Hit & Run competition.
Our 5 T-Ball teams are winding up their Championship on North Pelham Diamond 2 that day, starting around 10 am.
Our schedule for North Pelham Diamond 1 will be:
Mosquito Division Championship Game (Pelham 1 vs Pelham 2) at 9 am
Rookie Ball Division Championship Game (Pelham 1 vs Pelham 2) at 12 Noon
Games will be maximum 6 innings, no new innings to start after 2 hours of play.
Player and team trophies to be awarded on the field after the game.
12th Annual Pitch Hit and Run
We will be continuing our Pitch Hit and Run competitions this year, with the final event “Running” to be held before each of the Championship games begin.
The PH&R competitions include “Throwing” and “Hitting” (off a Tee) for distance, and running the bases against a stopwatch.
The Throwing and Hitting events will be organized and recorded in the weeks preceding the Championship Day. I will be scheduling and helping you with these events.
The “Running” event will be recorded on Championship Day, and then total scores will be calculated, and the 3 top finishers in each division will be awarded trophies after the game.
This event will start at 9 am and 12 Noon, so it is important that all of your players arrive early to warm up and be ready for the event and the game.
With only one team, there will not be a Championship Game. However, there can be a wrap up with the PH&R events on Aug 22nd. Details to be discussed.
Bantam and Midget
These teams hold their own team party.
Championship Day Food
We will be providing free pizza and drinks for all players and coaches at North Pelham Park on Aug 22nd, starting at 11 am. Extra food and drinks will be available for purchase. Champ Day pizza purchased from Mossimo’s in Fonthill.
The Mosquito teams may wish to arrive early before their game to have an early lunch.
More details on the above events will be provided. Please make your players aware of these dates, so that they may plan out their August schedules.
Parking will obviously be congested that day. Cars should only be parked along the diamond side (the west side) of the street, after the lot fills up.
