The Pelham
Minor Baseball Association held its annual Championship Day at Harold
Black Park on Sunday August 28th, with players and teams from
Rookie Ball through to Midget competing for division championships and
awards. The Miller Restoration Rookie Ball team won its semi-final game in the morning, and advanced to the finals in the afternoon, defeating Beamsville to capture the division. All of the hard work of the season came down to the last game, and we are happy to report that Pelham came out on top with a decisive victory! Although everyone played hard, Trent Furlong is due the credit of a beautiful pop fly catch and "almost" captured a double play. During a tentative, possible come back inning for Beamsville, Matthew Martel made two quick plays to Wyatt Gibson at home plate, stopping one run and subsequently closing out the inning. Carter Teal and Matthew Martel shut down the final inning with a second to first out, and Sammy Ugulini sent us to "hat tossing" victory with the final fielding play.

M&M Meat Shops Mosquito team captured the Pelham division
championship, and the My Place Bar and Grill Peewee team won their
Pelham division.
