The Pelham Rookie Select team entered a tournament in Welland on August 18th and came home with the championship.

They won the first game against Welland and defeated them 11-4.  Trailing 3-0 going into the bottom of the third, Pelham earned 5 runs and never looked back.  Outstanding defensive plays kept the Welland runners from scoring.

The second game was against Niagara Falls.  Pelham was again trailing 4-0 but never gave up and earned a 13-8 victory.  A homerun by Jessica Braun in the 4th inning helped Pelham pull ahead.

They had to meet Niagara Falls again in the final game.  Both teams had solid hitting but a homerun by Brock Glenney in the 6th inning helped Pelham to defeat Niagara Falls 22-17.
